Satterwhite Point
OpenThe main hub of Kerr Lake State Recreation Area, Satterwhite Point is home to the park's visitor center with exhibits on local wildlife, plants, and the history of the reservoir. The area offers beach access, boat ramps, picnic shelters, and the park amphitheater for ranger-led programs.
J.C. Cooper Campground
ClosedOne of the largest campgrounds at Kerr Lake, J.C. Cooper offers over 100 campsites across three areas with a mix of electric/water hookup and primitive sites. Features include playgrounds, shower houses, and a group campsite accommodating up to 100 people.

Bullocksville
OpenBullocksville offers 59 campsites with a mix of electric/RV hookup and non-electric options. The area features two shower houses, a boat ramp, beach access, and easy access to the Ole Still Trail — a short interpretive walk through the woods.

OpenSitting on the Vance-Warren county line, this recreation area has 55 campsites with electric/water hookups and non-electric options. It features a playground, shower house, boat ramp, and beach access — a favorite for families with young children.

Big Poplar Trail
0.75 miA scenic one-way trail connecting Satterwhite Point to J.C. Cooper Campground. The trail winds through mature hardwood forest and passes several large poplar trees that give the trail its name. Keep an eye out for woodpeckers, deer, and seasonal wildflowers.

Kerr Lake Kids in Parks Track Trail
0.75 miPart of the national Kids in Parks TRACK Trail program, this family-friendly path features interpretive stations about the lake's ecosystem, native wildlife, and water conservation. Pick up a brochure at the visitor center to complete the activity stations along the way.

Ole Still Trail
0.34 miA short interpretive trail near the Bullocksville campground. The trail takes you through a wooded area where remnants of an old moonshine still can be found — a reminder of the region's Prohibition-era history. Informational signs explain the cultural significance of the site.

Plantation Trail
